Songkrate ("we", "us", "our") is a music curation and playback management tool. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
Profile data. You create profiles within your account (name and avatar emoji). These are stored to provide the service.
Music preferences. We store your music curation choices (which albums, artists, and tracks you've added to each profile). This is the core functionality of the service.
Service connections. When you connect a music service (Apple Music), we store authentication tokens to access the service on your behalf. We do not store your music service password.
Usage data. We collect basic server logs (IP address, request timestamps) for operational and security purposes.
How we use your information

Data storage & security
Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords and PINs are hashed using bcrypt. API tokens are cryptographically signed. All connections use HTTPS encryption.
Third-party services
- Apple Music. Songkrate connects to Apple Music via MusicKit to browse the catalog and control playback. Your music preferences are managed through Apple's APIs.
- Resend. We use Resend to send transactional emails. Your email address is shared with Resend for this purpose only.
- Sentry. We use Sentry for error tracking to improve service reliability.
Data retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at [email protected].
Your rights

Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice in the app.
